Protecting Public Safety and Community Health
What's the issue?
The safety of our neighbors and the wellness of our community has always been a top priority. While violent crime rates have fallen citywide since Phyllis took office, families are still concerned about neighborhood safety and crime. Phyllis is committed to reducing crime and making sure that families can access healthcare services.
Why is it important:
Our community’s health and safety are fundamental to its ability to thrive. When residents aren’t confident about their family’s well-being, adequate attention can’t be given to things like economic growth and sustainability.
Phyllis Got It Done:
- Ensure that city services that work directly with youth and at-risk individuals to see the warning signs and take preventative steps before a crime is committed wherever we can.
- Prioritize funding for Police, EMS, and Fire Departments to ensure they are equipped with the most effective technology and training to keep our communities safe and secure.
- Enable Metro Health to provide immunizations, wellness programs for children and teens, care for neighbors with diabetes, and continue health services of our seniors.
