What's the issue?
Balancing our goals as a city with our ability to sustain growth and protect our environment enables our community to prosper while remaining conscious of the impact we have on our natural and economic resources. Phyllis believes in smart growth that maintains the character and beauty of our neighborhoods, and supports a growing and vibrant economy.
Why is it important:
It is important to encourage growth, but not at the expense of the economically vulnerable among us, or without consideration of our environmental impact.
Phyllis Got It Done:
- Used her position as a member of the rate advisory committee to fight for the residents of D3 to foster a sustainable city while maintaining a minimal financial impact for the residents of the southside.
Looking ahead:
- Work together with our utility providers to avoid the energy interruptions and adverse reactions to weather that we have seen in the past.
- Lead by example and hold all businesses to an environmental and economic impact standard that will enable our continued growth and prosperity.
